Shaykh ‘Umar Sulaymaan al-Ashqar said:

In our village, there wasn’t anyone from al-Ikhwaan al-Muslimoon, [rather] in our village there were members of Hizb at-Tahreer; [their] gatherings were held there to educate those affiliated to this group. And since the beginning I was repulsed by the advocates of Hizb at-Tahreer, and would keep my distance from them, and reject their methodology which they had devised. And [so], I remained like that until this day, and despite that, I was tormented as a result of these [people], and falsely accused of being one of them.
