Buying women's fashion magazines

Question: A sister asks: "What is the ruling regarding buying magazines in which there are pictures of women, in order to adopt certain fashions which are in accordance with our Sharee'ah, and leaving whatever opposes it?"

Response: It is not permissible for you to buy these magazines in which there are pictures of different fashions because of that which they contain of fitnah and the promotion of the like of these harmful magazines; And sufficient for you should be the dress/clothing of whatever is sufficient for the women of your land (so long as it meets the Sharee'ah guidelines).

And with Allaah lies all success and may Allaah send prayers and salutations upon our Prophet (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) and his family and his companions.
