She sees small drops of blood whilst fasting
*Please appropriately reference this fatwa to: www.fatwa-online.com, thankyou!*
Question: If some small drops of blood come out [of the vagina] of the woman, and this continues throughout the month of Ramadhaan whilst she is fasting, is her fasting correct?

Response: Yes, her fasting is correct. As for the [small] drops of blood, then it is nothing because it is that blood which has come out at other than the time of her regular menses. And it has been related on the authority of ‘Alee ibn Abee Taalib (radhi-yAllaahu 'anhu) who said:

((Certainly, these drops are like the nosebleed [and are] not the menses))

This is how it has been related from him (radhi-yAllaahu 'anhu).
