The paying of a bribe

Question: Is the paying of a bribe permissible?

Response: Paying a bribe is permissible in order to rid yourself of a harm which has oppressively befallen you, or to obtain your right which you are unable to do so without the [payment of a] bribe, with the condition that you can be certain that no greater harm occurs as a result [of you paying a bribe] such as your imprisonment or punishment.
