Question: What is the ruling regarding following the iqaamah [just as one follows the adhaan – repeating the words of the muadh.dhin]?
Response: There is a hadeeth transmitted by Abu Daawood (ref.528) regarding following the iqaamah, however it is weak and is not [sufficient] proof to establish its practice; And the preponderant opinion is that it (the iqaamah) is not to be followed.
