Question: When a person repents to Allaah and is saddened by his previous actions, what are the signs of the acceptance of his repentance?
Response: From the signs of the acceptance of his repentance is the rectification of his condition and his uprightness, and him being far removed from sins, and his hatred for them and sadness at what has come to pass [of sins] from him, and his increase in worship and noble actions.
