al-Hasan al-Basree رحمه الله was asked about the accepted Hajj:
‘What is its sign?’He replied:
‘That the hajj pilgrim returns disinterested in worldly life, detached from it, and desiring the Hereafter.’So a person returns from their Hajj having been reminded during this pilgrimage of the Hereafter and what it entails, and that just as the days of Hajj come to an end, so too will the days of your life.
And you will then be returned to Allaah ﷻ on a great Day; Allaah said about it:
{And fear a Day when you will be returned to Allaah.} – al-Baqarah 2:281
