So if we [really] want to defend [the honour of] the Messenger (sal-Allaahu ’alayhi wa sallam), then we should defend him within ourselves first [and foremost].
Refuting the enemies of the Messenger (sal-Allaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) is [done] in light of what has been prescribed in the Book of Allaah and in the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu ’alayhi wa sallam).
