Are the ahaadeeth relating to the excellence of the night of 15th Sha’baan authentic?
What is the ruling regarding fasting the 15th day of the month of Sha’baan, and is it permissible to fast the ‘day of doubt’ – at the end of the month? [Please] provide us with a ruling, [and] may you be rewarded.
The questioner says, tomorrow is the beginning of the month of Sha’baan. What are the good deeds legislated in this month, and is a good deed [done] in this month better than a good deed [done] in the sacred months (Muharram, Rajab, Dhul-Qi’dah and Dhul-Hijjah)?
Has it been [authentically] established that the Prophet ﷺ used to fast during the month of Sha’baan?
Therefore, it is befitting for a person to fast a lot during [the month of] Sha’baan, following the example of the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ
When observing the case of ‘Aa.ishah (radhi-yAllaahu ‘anhaa), it’s difficult [to comprehend] that she delayed making-up the [missed] fasts [of the previous Ramadhaan] until Sha’baan. So the question arises, did she not fast the voluntary fasts which were encouraged?
The scholars of hadeeth said “there is no hadeeth related to the [virtue of the night of] 15th of Sha’baan which is authentic.
I was careless in making-up some of the days which I was required to fast from the previous [month of] Ramadhaan until the arrival of the following month [of Ramadhaan]; so what am I [now] required to do?
What is the day of doubt and is it permissible to fast on that day?
