I am a youth, and have been afflicted with [committing] a sin, and every time I repent [to Allaah] from it, I go back to doing it; I [just] want to be free of it, [so] if I were to do it again, is it permissible for me to undertake an oath that I shall fast a day for the Sake of Allaah, or give in charity so [as a result of which] He will safeguard me from doing it again?
From the people are those who preoccupy themselves with the faults of others, and forget their own faults.
As for those who delay the Fajr prayer until its time passes – while they are able to pray it on time, then their prayer is not accepted, even if they were to pray [it] 1,000 times!
From the signs of a relapse [in your eemaan] is that…
It is not befitting for the believer to begin the day or the evening except in a state of repentance, for indeed he does not know when death may strike – [whether] in the morning or the evening.
We are all sinful, and we wash our hearts [of them] with the ‘soap’ of repentance.
[How] sad is [the state of] the son of Aadam; lifting rocks is easier for him than to abandon sins.
Indeed it is my falling short [of sufficient good deeds] that I weep over.
The most dishonest of the people is the one who returns to his sins [after repenting for them]…
In one of the circles [of knowledge] you responded to one of the questioner’s regarding a man who had dishonestly taken someone else’s money [or possession with the intention of permanently depriving the owner of it]…
