From the people are those who preoccupy themselves with the faults of others, and forget their own faults.
As for those who delay the Fajr prayer until its time passes – while they are able to pray it on time, then their prayer is not accepted, even if they were to pray [it] 1,000 times!
It is not befitting for the believer to begin the day or the evening except in a state of repentance, for indeed he does not know when death may strike – [whether] in the morning or the evening.
In one of the circles [of knowledge] you responded to one of the questioner’s regarding a man who had dishonestly taken someone else’s money [or possession with the intention of permanently depriving the owner of it]…
I am a youth, and have been afflicted with [committing] a sin, and every time I repent [to Allaah] from it, I go back to doing it; I [just] want to be free of it, [so] is if I were to do it again, is it permissible for me to undertake an oath that I shall fast a day for the Sake of Allaah, or give in charity so [as a result of which] He will safeguard me from doing it again?
