Knowledge which does not benefit
‘Abdul-A’laa said to me: ‘Certainly he who has been given knowledge which does not cause him to weep, then it is feared he has not been given knowledge which benefits him.’
Men are of three types
Men are [of] three [types]: A man who does a good deed, and then hopes for, and anticipates its reward. And a man who does an evil deed, then repents and hopes for, and anticipates forgiveness.
So what did you do with that which you knew?
Certainly, that which I fear the most is when I stand [before my Lord] to account [for my deeds], and it is [then] said to me: ‘You had knowledge, so what did you do with that which you knew?’
Expiation of sins is by good actions
