The Aftahiyyah are a sect from amongst the Raafidhah. They claim the imaamah was passed from Ja’far as-Saadiq to his son ‘Abdullaah al-Aftah, who was Ismaa’eel’s brother – both having the same parents, their mother being Faatimah bint al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan ibn ‘Alee.
