The pleasure which remains after death, and [that which] benefits in the Hereafter is the pleasure [attained] from knowledge of Allaah and actions for His Sake [alone].

A true brother
So your brother is the one who [sincerely] advises you, reminds you, and warns you [against pursuing the path to destruction].
In the absence of your brother
In the absence of your brother, make mention of him with what you [yourself] would like to be remembered with, and do not make mention of him with what you [yourself] would not like to be mentioned…
From that which is strange in this time of ours
From that which is strange in these times [of ours today], is that between you and another is a relationship, the sincerity of which is built upon fond memories – the size of mountains!
Two dark lines
There were two dark lines on the face of ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab رضي الله عنه – due to weeping.
Allaah loves the doers of good
Does your chest not tighten when the good you do is ignored by those you treat kindly? He responded: Sufficient for me is His saying:
and do good; indeed Allaah loves the doers of good – al-Baqarah 2
Intending solely for the Sake of Allaah
Perhaps a small deed will be magnified [in its reward] by its intention, and perhaps a large deed will be diminished [in its reward] by its intention.
Don’t concern yourself with them
Indeed, you are unable to please all of the people, so rectify that which is between you and Allaah and don’t concern yourself with [what] the people [may think or say].
Sincerity to Allaah alone
Everything [we do] by which sincerity to Allaah [alone] is not intended will disappear (be worthless).
In pursuit of humility
He (Ahmad ibn Yahya ash-Shaybaanee) was self-deprecating, and would not deem himself [to be much].
