Giving that which you love in charity

A man came asking [for charity] at the door of ar-Rabee’ ibn Khuthaym. So he (ar-Rabee’) said [to his family]: Feed this man with sugar. So his family said: Rather, he only wants [whatever] scraps & morsels [we have]. So he (ar-Rabee’) said: Feed him with sugar for ar-Rabee’ loves sugar.
