Whoever busies himself with [helping fulfil] the needs of the people, Allaah will aid him in [fulfilling] his personal needs.

Distributing Zakaah in other than money
Is it permissible to convert the money [extracted] for the Zakaah to tangible food items and other than that, and then distribute [that instead] to the poor and needy?
The most tender hearted of people
Shu’bah was the most tender [hearted] of people; he would give the seeker [of aid] whatever was possible for him [to give].
The worst of brothers
And the [genuine] brothers are known during [times of] need. [That is] because during [times of] ease and comfort, everyone is a friend.

What is the ruling regarding giving zakaah to relatives and maid servants?
He prescribed me with seven
My close friend [Muhammad] ﷺ prescribed me with [the following] seven

Daawood ibn Abi Hind رحمه الله [voluntarily] fasted for forty years, and his family were not aware of it.
Never turning away a seeker of charity
I came across communities who would encourage their families never to turn away [empty handed] a seeker [of charity].
It is now my responsibility
What is the matter with you (what makes you cry)?
Giving that which you love in charity
A man came asking [for charity] at the door of ar-Rabee’ ibn Khuthaym رحمه الله. So he (ar-Rabee’) said [to his family]:
