Before [the advent of] electricity, he would go out every moonlit night to read. And in winter, he would go out and sit between two steel barrels for protection against the cold!

Rejoicing at the arrival of Winter
Welcome to Winter - during which blessings descend [from Allaah]; wherein the nights are long [and therefore conducive] to stand[ing] in prayer, and the days are short [and conducive] to fast[ing].
Do not be negligent in waking up your family
There is not a people who fail to admonish those among them who are negligent in prayer, except that their first punishment will be a reduction in their sustenance.
Fajr prayer in congregation
Whoever prays 'Ishaa in congregation, it is as if he spent half the night in prayer, and whoever [follows that and] prays Fajr in congregation, it is as if he spent the whole night in prayer
When would he make a profit?!
It is not befitting for the seeker [of good] to neglect the nights and days of virtue.

Missing the Fajr prayer and sleeping during its time instead of praying it, is from the greatest of the prohibited acts, and from the acts of the hypocrites.
No firm hadeeth exists
The scholars of hadeeth said “there is no hadeeth related to the [virtue of the night of] 15th of Sha'baan which is authentic."
The epitome of humility
For fourteen years, 'Abdoos prayed the morning (Fajr) prayer with the [same] wudhoo [as he had prayed] the 'Ishaa [prayer]. And he [truly] was the epitome of humility.
