If you spoke to a man about the Sunnah, and he said [to you] ‘Spare us from this [speech], and [just] tell us about the Book of Allaah’, then know that he is misguided.

Acting in accordance with the Sunnah
Whoever does an act which is not in accordance with the Sunnah, then his act is void.
Love of Allaah and His Messenger
Love of Allaah ‘Azza wa Jall entails love of the Qur.aan, and love of the Messenger ﷺ entails acting in accordance with his Sunnah.
The teacher’s concern
Ishaaq al-Fazaaree – a man of Sunnah – was the one who disciplined the people of ath-Thughar and taught them the Sunnah. And if an innovator entered ath-Thughar, he would oust him [to protect the people of ath-Thughar from his innovation].
A cause of splitting the jamaa’ah
He who follows his desires is prohibited from guidance, and falls into opposing the Sharee’ah, and [as a result] is a cause of splitting the jamaa’ah.
The innovators are like scorpions
They bury their heads and bodies in the sand and leave their tails out.
Signs of the people of innovation are clear and obvious
The signs of the people of innovation are clear and obvious. The most apparent of their signs is their severe enmity for those who carry the reports of the Prophet.
Whoever belittles the Ahlul-Hadeeth
And we are not focusing on mentioning the virtues of the Ahlul-Hadeeth, for indeed their virtues are well known and their merits are many.
Whoever listens to a person of innovation
Whoever listens to a person of innovation – and knows that he is a person of innovation – then protection is taken away from him, and he is left to himself.
Whoever listens to an innovator
Whoever listens to an innovator has left the protection of Allaah and is entrusted with the innovation.
