Shaykh Sulaymaan ar-Ruhaylee said:
Therefore, O servant of Allaah, you may die, but your book will not be closed.
You may die and be buried in your grave, but your book [of deeds] will not be closed. Deeds will be written for you and against you because of the lasting effects of [your deeds]; because of what you have left behind.
Therefore, O servant of Allaah, be careful not to leave behind anything but good: in your home, within your family, with your neighbours, with your students, with your brothers, [and] with all of the people.
Be careful not to leave behind anything but good, for by Allaah, you never know, the doors of good deeds may be opened for you while you are lying in your grave, and the reward of the prayer will be written for you, the reward of reading the Qur.aan, the reward of remembering Allaah ﷻ because there are those who followed your [good] example and are still alive doing this.
And the opposite may happen – may Allaah protect [us] – and evil deeds will be written against you while you are lying in your grave, because you led the people to them.
Allaah warns us about the Book that will be placed [before us] on the Day of Resurrection:
{And the record [of deeds] will be placed [open], and you will see the criminals fearful of that within it, and they will say, “Oh, woe to us! What is this book that leaves nothing small or great except that it has recorded it?” And they will find what they did present [before them]. And your Lord does injustice to no one.} – al-Kahf 18:49{So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.} – az-Zalzalah 99:7-8Allaah is the Greatest, O servant of Allaah,
{Indeed you are labouring restlessly towards your Lord, and will [eventually] meet the consequences.} – al-Inshiqaaq 84:6So you will meet the consequences [of your relentless labouring], and you will meet your Lord.
[So] Allaah warns you of the Day you will meet Him [to account for all your deeds – both good and bad].
