Oh Abaa Sa’eed, indeed I heard you supplicating this night for the ones who oppressed you, until I wished to be amongst them. What led you to do this?

Two dark lines
There were two dark lines on the face of ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab, due to weeping.
When the servant of Allaah commits a sin
Peace be upon you; [and] to proceed: Certainly, when the servant [of Allaah] commits a sin, he causes Allaah to detest him, and when he causes Allaah to detest him, He causes him to be detested by His servants.
Sins will lead to disbelief
[If left untreated], sins will lead to disbelief, in the same way fever will lead to death.
How pitiful is the state of the son of Aadam
[How] sad is [the state of] the son of Aadam; lifting rocks is easier for him than to abandon sins.
O Allaah, if you forgive me
O Allaah, if you forgive me, then you are qualified to do so, and if you punish me, then I am qualified to be so.
Dirty clothing is more in need of soap than it is of a pleasant scent
Which of the two is best: [that] I glorify Allaah ( سبحان الله ), or [that] I seek forgiveness from Allaah ( أستغفر الله )?
Don’t curse him
Don’t curse him. How do you know he hasn’t asked Allaah to forgive him, and He has [since] forgiven him.
When a man oppresses me
When a man oppresses me, I have mercy [and forgive] him.
Do not rejoice at people’s praise for you
Don’t rejoice at people’s praise for you, rather ask Allaah if indeed this is true that He increases you from His Bounty…
