They struck him (‘Uthmaan ibn ‘Affaan) and [his] blood spilt onto the mus.haf, [specifically] on the aayah:
And Allaah will be sufficient for you against them.

Yearning to prolong the prayer
If Talq ibn Habeeb رحمه الله began [his prayer] with soorah al-Baqarah, he would not bow down in rukoo’ until he reached [soorah] al-’Ankaboot*; and he would say
I really wanted to complete reciting it
Muhammad ibn Ismaa’eel [al-Bukhaaree] was invited to a garden belonging to some of his friends.
Reciting Quraan before he died
I was with al-Junayd when death was approaching him, and he completed [reciting] the Qur.aan, then began [reciting again from] Soorah al-Baqarah – reciting seventy aayahs before he died.
