Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen said:
It is incumbent upon the one to whom advice has been given by his [Muslim] brother to bear the advice with good thoughts, and to thank him for his advice. Because the one advising is helping him in obedience to Allaah عز و جل, and avoiding that which is prohibited.
