Madeenah University: Lessons in Arabic Language – Book 4

Arabic Language Book 4

Arabic Language Book 4 is the fourth and final volume in Dr. V. ‘Abdur-Raheem’s Lessons in Arabic Language series, completing the course produced by the Islaamic University of Madeenah for non-native speakers. By this stage, students bring together the vocabulary, grammar, and sentence construction built up across the first three books into more advanced and connected Arabic.

As with the rest of the series, the lessons are taught entirely in Arabic, without translation, so that the student is trained to think and read directly in the language rather than relying on it as an intermediary step. Completing this final book marks the end of the core Madeenah Arabic language course, though many students go on to use the accompanying charts, reading materials, and writing practice resources to continue reinforcing what they have learned.

It is with deep sorrow that we note the passing of the author, Shaykh Dr. V. ‘Abdur-Raheem, in October 2023. May Allaah ﷻ reward him abundantly for his service to Islaam and accept this work as an ongoing benefit for the many students across the world who have learned from it, from the first book through to this final one.

The series begins with the first book, and continues with the second book and the third book. Students looking to build on this final book may also find the verb conjugation chart and set of verb charts useful as ongoing reference material. All resources are available via marabic.com.
