Haatim al-Asamm رحمه الله said:

[When] I saw people envying one another, I reflected on the words of Allaah تعالى:

{[it is] We who have apportioned among them their livelihood} az-Zukhruf 43:32

So I abandoned envy – [understanding] it as a rejection of Allaah’s [divine] allocation.
