I attended the funeral of al-Ahnaf [ibn Qays] in Koofahah, and was amongst those who descended down into his grave.

And Allaah will be sufficient for you against them
They struck him ('Uthmaan ibn 'Affaan) and [his] blood spilt onto the mus.haf, [specifically] on the aayah:
And Allaah will be sufficient for you against them.
Break your fast with us tomorrow
Ibn 'Umar رضي الله عنهما said, in the morning 'Uthmaan [ibn 'Affaan] رضي الله عنه was speaking to the people, and said: 'I saw the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ in a dream last night, and he ﷺ said [to me]
Died yearning to fight in the Path of Allaah
It was reported, as death approached Yoonus ibn 'Ubayd رحمه الله, he looked towards his feet and began to cry; so it was said to him:
'What has made you cry O Abaa 'Abdillaah?' He replied
Sadness and grief
When death came upon [his uncle] Ja'far [ibn Abi Taalib], it was then we noticed sadness and grief upon the face of the Prophet ﷺ.
Tears fell upon his cheek
The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ kissed 'Uthmaan ibn Magh.dthoon whilst he [lay there before him] - dead, and [as he did so] his tears fell upon the cheek of 'Uthmaan ibn Magh.dthoon.
I long to meet you
Marwaan visited Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه during his illness from which he [later] died, and said to him: May Allaah cure you O Abaa Hurayrah.
Does not realise he is dreaming until he wakes up
One who is asleep does not realise he is dreaming until he wakes up, likewise, one who is negligent of the Hereafter does not realise what he has lost until after death reaches him.
Bury him where he dies
On 30 Jumaada ath-Thaanee 1414H (Wednesday, 15 December 1993), when asked about the will within which the deceased requested burial in Madeenah, Shaykh Ibn Baaz رحمه الله said
Performed wudhoo before he died
I saw 'Abdullaah ibn Busr make wudhoo, and therafter he رضي الله عنه died.
