Reference: Siyar A’laam an-Nubalaa
Ibn ‘Umar said, in the morning ‘Uthmaan [ibn ‘Affaan] was speaking to the people, and said:
I saw the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ in a dream last night, and he ﷺ said [to me]:
«Break your fast with us tomorrow»
So he woke up in the morning, fasting; and [later] that day he was killed.
