Abandoning the Sunan
Beware of abandoning the Sunan (pl. Sunnah), for indeed they are the testimonies of certainty [in eemaan].
The good servant
When Allaah تعالى wants good for a servant, He grants him three qualities: • understanding of the religion (fiqh), • detachment from worldly life (zuhd), • insight into his own flaws.
Brothers of this day and age
Brothers of this day [and age] are like the broth of a cook in the marketplace; good in smell (pleasant on the surface) but with no taste (lack substance or true meaning).
More in need of soap
“Which is better: that I glorify Allaah (tasbeeh) or that I seek forgiveness (istighfaar)?” Ibn al-Jowzi replied: “A dirty garment is more in need of soap than perfume.”
Because of a righteous man
Indeed, Allaah protects – because of a righteous man – his child, and the child of his child, and even the small dwellings around him; so they remain under Allaah’s protection and care.
Envying one another
[When] I saw people envying one another, I reflected on the words of Allaah تعالى
Advising sincerely
Whoever advises his brother in private has truly advised him and honoured him; but whoever admonishes him in public has exposed him and disgraced him.
Having taqwa
[Having] taqwa is to not see yourself as better than anyone else.
A good word is a seed
A good word is a seed: if it is watered with sincerity and nourished by following the Sunnah, it grows into a good tree with delicious fruits and abundant shade.
