Even though he had an excuse not to go
‘Aamir ibn ‘Abdillaah heard the mu.adhin [calling the adhaan], and said: ‘Take me by the hand [to the masjid].’
Sleeping a little at night
al-Haafith ‘Abdul-Ghanee visited me in Asbahaan, and [whilst here] he would only sleep a little at night; instead [spending most of his time] praying and reciting [the Qur.aan] or weeping.
Always giving away in charity
Never would an hour pass him except that he would give something away in charity, and if he did not have anything [to give away in charity], he would [then] pray two rak’ahs [of voluntary prayer].
Deeds done in secret
If [one’s] deeds done in secret are equal to [one’s] deeds done in public, then that is fair.
Fear and respect of Allaah
Indeed, the creation will respect you according to [the level of] your fear and respect of Allaah.
Do something about it
From the greatest of catastrophes for a man is that he knows his own shortcomings, but is not concerned, nor does he grieve over them.
Fear Allaah!
Whoever fears Allaah, [then] no-one will harm him; and whoever fears other than Allaah, [then] no-one will benefit him.
He is not truthful
He is not truthful, the one who claims [his] love of Allaah ‘Azza wa Jall, but does not preserve [and uphold] the limits set by Allaah.
Attaining the objective in the love of Allaah
If that which Allaah gives you and that which He denies you [appear] equal to you, then you have attained the objective in the love of Allaah.
