Does a little blood flow constitute menses?

Reference: Sharh ‘Umdatil-Fiqh – Tape No.7, Question No.12

Question: A woman says, sometimes she experiences a little blood flow; is this to be considered as menses [blood]?

Response: That which does not continue [to flow] is not [considered to be] menses [blood], that which does not continue [to flow] is not [considered to be] menses [blood]. Rather, it is [merely considered to be] something which invalidates the wudhoo. [So] it is [just] an impurity which should be washed off, as it is considered to be something which [just] invalidates the wudhoo.
