al-Awzaa’ee would not speak to anyone after the Fajr prayer until [after] he had engaged himself in the remembrance of Allaah; And if anyone did speak to him, he would respond to them.

After the ‘Asr prayer, Hassaan ibn ‘Atiyyah would retreat to a part of the masjid so as to engage himself in the remembrance of Allaah until sunset.
Sincerity in worshiping Allaah
What are the causes which assist in purifying [one’s] sincerity [in worshiping Allaah alone], and likewise [one’s] firmness upon [practising] the religion?

Leave me to my remembrance of Allaah
When Ahmad ibn Harb رحمه الله would sit before the barber to have his moustache trimmed, he would engage in the glorification of Allaah. So the barber would say to him

al-Buwaytee was always moving his lips in remembrance of Allaah.
I saw you with my own eyes talking to him
A traveller was invited into the Shaykh’s car on two simple conditions: no smoking, and more remembrance of Allaah.
