Repent and turn back to Allaah
So whoever commits [a deed] which Allaah and His Messenger have forbidden, has harmed his religion; and he must remedy this harm by repentance and turning back [to Allaah].
When the servant of Allaah commits a sin
Abu ad-Dardaa wrote to Maslamah ibn Makhlad [as follows]: ‘Peace be upon you; [and] to proceed
Sins will lead to disbelief
[If left untreated], sins will lead to disbelief (kufr), in the same way fever will lead to death.
Do not be misled by the extent of Allaah’s Gentleness over you
O people who sin against Allaah, do not be misled by the extent of Allaah’s Gentleness over you, [rather] be aware of His Anger, for indeed He says
Falling short
Indeed it is my falling short [of sufficient good deeds] that I weep over.
in shaa.-Allaah they have been forgiven by Allaah
‘Abdullaah ibn Bakr ibn ‘Abdillaah رحمه الله said, I heard a person speaking about my father, [saying that] when he (my father) was standing in ‘Arafah, he said
O Allaah, if you forgive me
O Allaah, if you forgive me, then you are worthy of that, and if you punish me, then I am worthy of that.
Dirty clothing is more in need of soap than it is of a pleasant scent
Which of the two is best: [that] I glorify Allaah ( سبحان الله ), or [that] I seek forgiveness from Allaah ( أستغفر الله )?
The most dishonest of the people
The most dishonest of the people is the one who returns to his sins [after repenting for them]. And the most ignorant of the people is the one who is arrogant about his good deeds.
