Praying in a garment made from the skin of a predatory animal

Reference: Sharh ‘Umdatil-Fiqh – Tape No.9, Question No.11

Question: Is the prayer [of the one who wore a garment made from the skin of a predatory animal] correct?

Response: So long as it covers his ‘awrah (the area between his navel and the knees), then his prayer is correct. However since it is prohibited [to wear such garments] there is sin attached [to wearing it]. This is similar to the one who [offers his prayer] wearing a garment which is stolen.
