Question: Is it permissible to perform the funeral prayer over the deceased during the forbidden times?
Response: It is permissible to perform the funeral prayer over the deceased during the long forbidden times, such as after Salaat al-‘Asr and after Salaat al-Fajr.
However, it is not permissible during the short forbidden times, such as:
- whilst the sun is setting, until it sets, and
- whilst it is rising until it reaches the length of a spear, and [also]
- while the sun is directly above [causing no shadow], until this passes.
So it is not permissible to bury the deceased during these times.
