"الكسَالى أكثر الناس هَمًّا وغَمًّا وحزنًا، ليس لهم فرح ولا سرور، بخلاف أرباب النشاط والجِدِّ في العمل أي عمل كان".

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

The lazy ones are the most distressed, depressed and saddest of the people; they experience no joy nor pleasure. [This is] contrary to those who are genuinely active and exert effort in [their] work – whatever work that might be.
