So the more the people increase in [comfort and] luxury, the more they open up before the people, [and as a result] the more evils open up before them.

Taking protective action against the epidemic
And from among them is that there is nothing wrong with a person using medicines, pills and vaccinations that prevent the epidemic, because that is from [seeking] protection before the outbreak of...
A reminder for the believer
During hardship, the believer is commanded with patience and acceptance, and when [having committed] sins, to seek forgiveness and repentance. Allaah تعالى says: So be patient, [O Muhammad].
The importance of exercising patience
Exercising patience whilst waiting for relief [from the trial] is an act of worship, for indeed, Allaah is most generous in giving.
From the greatest of calamities to befall a man
From the greatest of calamities to befall a man is that he knows of a shortcoming in himself, yet he is neither concerned with [ridding himself of] it, nor saddened on account of it.
The days are of two types
The days are [of] two [types]: A 'good' day, so be thankful [to Allaah for it]; and a 'bad' day, so be patient [until Allaah eases your hardship and relieves you of your burden].
Patience whilst upon obedience to Allaah
Patience whilst upon obedience [to Allaah] is [the attainment of] a higher rank than patience whilst enduring trials and tribulations!
A time of great trials and tribulations
[As an ummah], we are in a time of great trials and tribulations, and nothing can save us from these trials and tribulations except Allaah سبحانه و تعالى, and Thereafter beneficial knowledge.
Returning to the scholars for guidance
A graduate from 1401AH (1981) visited me this evening, and we reminisced about that time.
The worst of brothers
And the [genuine] brothers are known during [times of] need. [That is] because during [times of] ease and comfort, everyone is a friend.
