Beneficial knowledge and harmful knowledge
What does the [following] saying of the Messenger ﷺ mean: «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لاَ يَنْفَعُ» - transmitted by Muslim
Attaining knowledge
'Abdullaah ibn Yahyaa ibn Abi Katheer رحمه الله said that he heard his father say: 'It is not possible to attain knowledge while at ease and rest.'
Memorising when young
I heard (sought knowledge) from Qataadah when I was 14 years old, and there is nothing which I heard during those years except that it [remains with me] as if written in my heart.
Teach the people
adh-Dhahhaak would teach [the people], but would not take any payment [for doing so].
If knowledge does not benefit you
[Regarding] knowledge, if it does not benefit you, it will harm you.
Like two brothers
The tongue [of knowledge] of Ibn Hazm and the sword of al-Hajjaaj were [like] two brothers.

From the books of Islaam, I have not seen knowledge [content] of the likes of 'al-Muhallaa' of Ibn Hazm, and the book 'al-Mughnee' of Muwaffaq ad-Deen [Ibn Qudaamah].
Act in accordance with your knowledge
Whoever does not act in accordance with his knowledge, then his knowledge has not benefited him; rather it has harmed him.
Knowledge is that which benefits
Knowledge is that which benefits. Knowledge is not that which is [only] memorised.
