The people of truth do not lie
By Allaah, we would never lie, and nor do we know what lying is.
Accept the truth
You do not qualify for [any] level of humility until you accept the truth from whom you love, and from whom you detest. So you accept it from your enemy, just as you accept it from your friend.
Then he is not one who remembers Allaah
Indeed [true] fear is to fear Allaah until your fear [of Him] lies between you and your sins; that [there] is what fear is. And [true] remembrance is obedience to Allaah.
No illness is more dangerous than telling lies
There are no provisions better than taqwa, and nothing is better than silence, and no enemy is more harmful than ignorance, and no illness is more dangerous than telling lies.
Narrating fictitious stories
I narrate fictitious stories to children, and that is to encourage them to pray and be truthful, and all good things [in general]; so is this considered to be lies?
Those not well versed in Qur’an ‘should not issue fatwas’
The grand mufti said scholars must not issue fatwas, or religious edicts, if they are not well versed in the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace be upon him. “If he doesn’t know he should not issue any fatwa,” he said.
