Be sure to pray for your children
The third matter concerning supplication: [is] praying for [one’s] children. Strive – O servant of Allaah – in making du’aa for [your] children
Supplicating for one’s parents
Firstly, before starting, the reader – may Allaah reward him – prayed for mercy upon the author of the book [whereupon]: he said
O my Lord! My sins are great in number
In the biography of the Khaleefah, ‘Abdul-Malik ibn Marwaan, [it states]: He delivered an eloquent khutbah, and then [abruptly] stopped and began weeping profusely. Then, he said
Supplicating against someone
Do not fear the supplication of the one who supplicates against you without [any] right [to do so].
Be prompt in repenting for your sins
[If you are not prompt in repenting for a sin], perhaps the punishment [for that sin] may be delayed, and come [to you] towards the end of [your] life.
Always ask Allaah to make you blessed
It is befitting that a person always asks Allaah to make him blessed – wherever he may be; in his speech and his actions, so that there is good in him and his deeds.
Be patient
Man has not been blessed with anything better than patience. [So] be patient. Control yourself. Discipline your tongue.
What is the matter with us?!!
‘Aa.ishah رضي الله عنها said that the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ would increase in saying
An important issue for all who make istikhaarah
It is not necessary for the one who makes istikhaarah that he see anything to guide him to that which is best for him.
