The Prophet ﷺ said:
«The covenant that distinguishes between us and them (the disbelievers) is the prayer; so whoever leaves it has disbelieved (become a kaafir)», [at-Tirmidhee, an-Nasaa.ee, Ahmad, al-Haakim]
Shaykh Dr. ‘Aasim al-Qaryooti said:
He who [exherts himself in] protect[ing] his religion, and [likewise protecting] his prayer – which [itself] is a pillar of the religion [of Islaam], does not leave it wherever he may be.
This is a worker at the fish market, [and] it is the time for the ‘Asr prayer – and he is performing his prayer.
Glad tidings to those whom Allaah has blessed with obedience to Him.
