We pursued this affair [of seeking knowledge] and [when] we looked [around us], we did not find anyone doing an action without knowledge, except that [as a result] he would do more good than harm.

He is not truthful
He is not truthful, the one who claims [his] love of Allaah عز و جل, but does not preserve [and uphold] the limits set by Allaah.

Attaining the objective in the love of Allaah
If that which Allaah gives you and that which He denies you [appear] equal to you, then you have attained the objective in the love of Allaah.
Love of Allaah and His Messenger
Love of Allaah عز و جل entails love of the Qur.aan, and love of the Messenger ﷺ entails acting in accordance with his Sunnah.

Ishaaq al-Fazaaree – a man of Sunnah – was the one who disciplined the people of ath-Thughar and taught them the Sunnah.
Love Allaah, and Allaah will love you
O son of Aadam, love Allaah and Allaah will love you; and know that you will never love Allaah until you love obedience to Him.
Love of the Qur.aan
Whoever wishes to know whether he loves Allaah and His Messenger, then he should [ponder and] reflect; if he loves the Qur.aan, then [this indicates] he loves Allaah and His Messenger.
Attaining the love of Allaah
Indeed the heart which loves Allaah ﷻ loves to become tired and exhausted for [the Sake of] Allaah; one will certainly never attain the love of Allaah whilst at rest and ease.
