The right of Allaah upon you is greater
Do not look in vain at your hard work [in doing righteous deeds], for [indeed] the right of Allaah upon you [that He alone be worshiped] is greater [than that].
Referring to the Qur.aan
Ibn Seereen would pray [the voluntary prayer] with a mus.haf by his side, and if he hesitated [in his recitation] he would look inside it.
O you who have believed, listen up!
When you hear Allaah say:
O you who have believed... - then listen attentively, for it is either a good thing that you are commanded with, or a bad thing that you are forbidden from.

This world is the 'farm' of the Hereafter
This world is the 'farm' of the Hereafter. So if he did not 'sow' anything in there for his Hereafter, then he has lost it, and [as a result] he has lost his Hereafter.
This is a tragedy!
A day passes you by and you have not [even] opened the mus.haf [to read it].
From the signs of a relapse in eemaan
From the signs of a relapse [in your eemaan] is that: you hear the adhaan, and do not respond [by attending the prayer]; you miss the Fajr prayer, and are not concerned [about it]; you have abandoned.

From the greatest of causes for the uprightness of the heart and its protection [from harm] is the plentiful reading of the qur.aan.
Positive determination
Whoever does not possess a determination for [anything] other than [fulfilling the desires of] his stomach and his private parts, then he is considered from amongst the beasts.
