The prayer of the sick
Many of those who are sick pray on their beds, as they are unable to move; so [as a result] they pray without wudhoo.
I long to meet you
Marwaan visited Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه during his illness from which he [later] died, and said to him: May Allaah cure you O Abaa Hurayrah.
'So I turn my gaze away from her'
I see a woman in a dream, and know she is not permissible for me, so I turn my gaze away from her.
The pleasure of food
Indeed one will not find pleasure of food when ill, so how will he find pleasure in worship whilst sinning?
Ready and waiting for the prayer inside the masjid
Apart from when I have been ill or travelling, for the last forty years, never has the muadh.dhin ever made the call for the zhuhr prayer except that I have been [ready and waiting for the prayer]...
I would think he was ill
Never did I see him (my father) pray, except that I would think he was ill*. Translator's note:
*Meaning, he would pray slowly and carefully.
