al-Aswad ibn Yazeed would complete [reading] the Qur.aan every two days during Ramadhaan, and he would sleep between maghrib and ‘ishaa. And in other than Ramadhaan, he would complete [reading] the Qur.aan every six days.

In some of the masaajid, every day – particularly after the ‘Asr prayer, one of the brothers reads a number of ahaadeeth from the book “Riyaadh as-Saaliheen”; so is this practice [considered to be] an innovation?
My father

Naafi’ reports that if Ibn ‘Umar رضي الله عنهما missed the ‘ishaa prayer in congregation, he would remain awake the rest of the night standing in prayer.
Sufyaan ath-Thowree’s prostration
I saw ath-Thowree in the Haram (al-Masjid al-Haraam, Makkah) after maghrib; He prayed [the maghrib prayer] and then went into prostration, and did not rise [from the prostration] until the call for the ‘ishaa prayer was made.
