“What is at-Tawakkul (reliance)?” al-Hasan al-Basree said:
“It is that nothing in the servant’s heart is more trustworthy than their Lord.”

Presuming good of Allaah and reliance upon Him
My father رحمه الله was on the roof of the masjid repairing one of the drain pipes, when one of the passers by asked him: “Why [are you fixing the drain pipe] O Shaykh?” And he replied
Building your trust and reliance upon Allaah
It was said to Haatim al-Asamm رحمه الله, ‘on what have you built your trust and reliance upon Allaah?” He said
Sincere and genuine reliance upon Allaah alone
at-Tawakkul (having a good expectation and trust) upon Allaah [alone] is the culmination of [one’s] eemaan.
And he would supplicate [to Allaah, saying]
