Question: Is the fast for expiating an oath (kaffaaratul-yameen) required to be done consecutively over three days? And what is required of the one who split them up, and did not fast them consecutively [over three days] due to extenuating circumstances such as ill health, or without [the presence of any extenuating circumstances]?

Response: It is best the fast for expiating an oath be done consecutively, however, if he split them up [over a number of non-consecutive days], then there is no harm in that.
