فتحفَّظوا حفظنا الله وإيَّاكم من العُجب والرِّياء.

Ibn Hazm رحمه الله said:

Self-admiration (العُجْب) is one of the gravest sins and among the most destructive to good deeds. So be cautious – may Allaah protect and preserve us and you – from self-admiration and showing off (الرِّيَاء).
