Reference: Liqaa al-Baab al-Maftooh v24 p19
Question: In the hadeeth it mentions:
«Allaah is merciful to the one who prays four [raka'aat] before the 'Asr [prayer]» [transmitted by Abu Daawood no.1271 and at-Tirmidhee no.430; graded hasan by al-Albaanee]
...is this to be done before or after the adhaan [of the 'asr prayer]?"
Response: If the hadeeth:
«Allaah is merciful to the one who prays four [raka'aat] before the 'Asr [prayer]» [transmitted by Abu Daawood no.1271 and at-Tirmidhee no.430; graded hasan by al-Albaanee]
...is authentic, then what is intended is between the adhaan and the iqaamah.
