Reference: Siyar A’laam an-Nubalaa v6 p195
Muhammad ibn ‘Abdil-A’laa رحمه الله narrated that said to me:
If you (Muhammad ibn ‘Abdil-A’laa رحمه الله) were not from my family I would not have told you this about my father; he was steadfast in fasting every other day for forty years, and he would [also] pray the fajr prayer with the wudhoo of the ‘ishaa prayer.
