My brother died at the age of 35, and he had not performed hajj. Should I perform ‘umrah or hajj on his behalf – even though he had not done so?
[Regarding] the ‘umrah, if he (the son) wants to gift [the reward of] an ‘umrah to his deceased father, even though he (the father) had done ‘umrah himself…
[Regarding] the ‘umrah, is it permissible to do so on behalf of another if the person is unable [to do so himself] due to an illness?
My mother died whilst I was young, and so I hired someone trustworthy to perform hajj on her behalf. My father had also died, and I heard from some of my relatives that he himself had performed the hajj.
If a man died without having instructed anyone to perform hajj on his behalf [after his death], then is he relinquished of this obligation if his son performs hajj on his behalf?
Is it permissible to perform ‘umrah on behalf of someone who has died? And is it permissible for me to perform ‘umrah on behalf of my father who is still alive, but is unable to do so [himself]?
