The Winter night has become long
The Winter night has become long, so blessed is he who does good deeds during it, and misery for the one who does wrong.
A warning against being preoccupied with the faults of others
From the people are those who preoccupy themselves with the faults of others, and forget their own faults.
Beware of sudden death
Towards the end of time – and pay attention to this – [towards] the end of time, sudden death will increase.
Always ask Allaah to make you blessed
It is befitting that a person always asks Allaah to make him blessed – wherever he may be; in his speech and his actions, so that there is good in him and his deeds.
The right of Allaah upon you is greater
Do not look in vain at your hard work [in doing righteous deeds], for [indeed] the right of Allaah upon you [that He alone be worshiped] is greater [than that].
This world is the ‘farm’ of the Hereafter
This world is the ‘farm’ of the Hereafter. So if he did not ‘sow’ anything in there for his Hereafter, then he has lost it, and [as a result] he has lost his Hereafter.
From the causes of worry, sadness and sorrow
Indeed, worry, sadness and sorrow occur from two directions: One of them is a desire for the world and pursuit for it, and the second is a deficiency in righteous deeds and worship.
When would he make a profit?!
It is not befitting for the seeker [of good] to neglect the nights and days of virtue.
The reward of doing a good deed
Indeed, from the reward of [doing] a good deed is [doing] a good deed after it. And from the punishment of [doing] a bad deed is [doing] a bad deed after it.
