Occupy yourself with the deeds of the Hereafter, and you will find the affairs of this world taken care of [and] bringing you no harm.

Your appointed time is approaching
The truth is that a happy life is not [attained] with an abundance of wealth, nor an abundance of sustenance, nor superficially nice appearances – which in reality are not-so-nice.
The state of our existence in this world
The Prophet ﷺ said: What is the world to me? What am I to the world? What am I in this world but like a rider who seeks shade under a tree, then he moves on and leaves it behind.
This is how the life of this world is
as-Salaam ‘Alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuhu. He was born yesterday, [and we welcomed the] blessing of the birth, and all Praise is due to Allaah for safety and protection.
Beware of indulging in the pursuit of comfort and luxury
So the more the people increase in [comfort and] luxury, the more they open up before the people, [and as a result] the more evils open up before them.
Provision is solely in the Hand of Allaah
[Regarding] the dunya [of the believer], if it is lost [in the Path of Allaah], then Allaah will compensate for it, because the [matter of] provision is [solely] in the Hand of Allaah.
From the causes of worry, sadness and sorrow
Indeed, worry, sadness and sorrow occur from two directions: One of them is a desire for the world and pursuit for it, and the second is a deficiency in righteous deeds and worship.
Zam Zam benefits the drinker
There is evidence here that the water of Zam Zam benefits the drinker for whatever reason he drinks it for – whether it is for the affairs of this world or the Hereafter; because what in his ﷺ words…
More beloved to me than this world and all that is in it
For me to know that Allaah has accepted from me [a good deed equivalent to] the weight of a grain, is more beloved to me than this world and all that is in it. That is because He تعالى says
Out of respect for him
When Khaalid ibn Ma’daan would sit, no-one from amongst [those who had gathered] was able to mention [anything of] the dunyaa in his presence – out of respect for him.
